I am a product of excellent training in high school (International Baccalaureate diploma in 7 subjects: Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, English, and Theory of Knowledge), college (Honors Biology), and graduate school (PhD in microbiology, immunology, and cancer biology). This academic background has shaped my passion for teaching and helping students achieve their highest possible academic outcomes. I believe in progressive learning providing a positive learning experience for my students at all levels of formal training. I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring high school, undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, most of whom have gone on to be successful in their chosen careers as research scientists, physicians, clinical research coordinators, allied health technicians, and project managers.
I am happy to apply my skills in helping students achieve success in math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Epidemiology, and in preparing for GRE, SAT, and MCAT (among others).
My first goal for each tutoring session is to understand the student's specific needs. My second goal is to develop a student-specific framework for problem solving using various blended strategies for intellectual growth, including exercises that inspire and challenge independent thought about each problem. My third goal is to inspire students to ask questions that will get them on a path to independent and self-assessment exercises. I will be available for tutoring online, or in-person at a location that is convenient for the student and/or their parents/guardian(s).
Finally, whether you are a student or a parent/guardian, I am glad you have reached out for help, and I fully support your commitment to academic success. I am excited about helping you and I look forward to hearing from you with a proposal for working together so that you can get (and stay) on the trajectory for a productive and satisfying career in the near future.
