Hi everyone, I'm Alan! I'm an undergraduate mechanical engineering student at the University of Maryland Baltimore County but I'm transferring to NYU. In high school, I earned an IB diploma after taking 2 years of IB math AA HL. At UMBC, I took calculus 1 and had an amazing TA who took time in our classes to make sure everyone understood the topics before quizzes were passed out, inspiring me to help out others. My teaching philosophy revolves around small groups, targeted teaching methods, and varying emphasis on different topics. Having good basics is what will make you succeed. Good practice questions are also critical to my teaching philosophy.
During college this semester, I had the opportunity to teach my friends Calculus 1 from start to finish. Although they crammed and I had about 3 days to help them out, they all passed with flying colors on their final exam. Besides math, I was also a good history student with a 4 in APUSH and a 5 in AP World. My hobbies include video editing and tennis so I can also offer advice in those fields.
