I offer high-quality, affordable lessons in Mathematics at the 6-12th grade levels and above if requested. I am particularly knowledgeable in test prep, and can instruct students on all areas (not just math) of the SAT/ACT.
I am comfortable coaching Chess to players rated under 1600 USCF, or any recreational/unrated player.
I will always ask for students to discuss their issues and send material for me to review before the lesson.
I have several years of 1-1 tutoring experience in mathematics and chess. My best strength is clear communication and being able to explain concepts/strategies in multiple ways, so that it clicks with the student. I have had particular success with the Socratic method, where I ask the student to vocalize their thought process, and ask questions to guide them, which allows them to solve problems while understanding how it is done.
