It has been one of my joys in life to teach students with dyslexia and to watch their confidence rise as they discover the sound sequences and patterns of written language. The multisensory approach of this methodology has been the "gold standard" for helping students with dyslexia to become more proficient readers. I craft each lesson individually to tailor it to the needs of each student. I provide lots of structure and review and infuse each lesson with interest so that my students keep coming back for more.

I have a degree in English from the University of Maine and a teaching certification from the University of Idaho. I scored very highly on the Idaho Comprehensive Literacy Exams and also on the Praxis exams. I have taught for over 7 years in the public schools and at the Children's Dyslexia Center of Bangor, Maine. I also taught each of my five children to read!

I have a degree in Special Education from the University of Idaho and have experience teaching reading to students with learning disabilities. I have taught a middle school resource room and used many different curricula for struggling readers. In 2015, I began an intensive training program to become a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor.
