Hi, I'm Jackie! As a native English speaker, I have a clear, neutral American accent. I'm TESOL certified and hold a B.S. in Visual Communications. I have taught English for more than four years, both online and in person. I currently teach adult students at a community college. My students come from all over the world — especially Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Russia. I teach all levels, from beginner to advanced. I have experience using the Pearson English curriculum and have completed extra training through Cambridge English. I am also a certified Apple Teacher.
My teaching style focuses on real conversations. I build lessons around topics you care about — like travel, work, or culture. This way, English becomes something you use every day, not just something you study. I focus on speaking, pronunciation, listening, and everyday conversation skills. I have experience helping students prepare for the CASAS test, and my students' scores have always improved. Whether you are just starting out or want to polish your English for a new job or school, I will build lessons around your goals and your pace.
I have always loved language, culture, and travel. I lived in England, and I have traveled to Spain, Italy, France, Iceland, Japan, Hong Kong, and China. I speak some Italian and basic Spanish, so I know what it feels like to learn a new language. I also work as a graphic designer, so I make lessons that are colorful, clear, and fun. My students say I am kind, patient, and encouraging. I want you to feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe to make mistakes as you learn.
