I simply love to read, and absorb facts about many things. I have been a successful student in the past and present; mainly because of curiosity and retention. Though comprehension is always key, I believe curiosity and memory retention can be learned traits. I have been a teacher in New York City, and later became a volunteer Literacy tutor in Massachusetts, and later in Maryland.

On those occasions, I followed a teaching style that is very student-centric. Although sticking to lesson plans give order and pace to the overall learning experience, my teaching and/or tutoring has also allowed me to see the benefits of crafting learning sessions that are directly relatable to student experiences; it gives the students a better chance to quickly reach that "aha moment" and say "I've got it." As a consequence, I also try to glean what is happening in the students' lives, because learning doesn't occur in a vacuum bubble apart from real-life.

There is nothing more rewarding to me than helping another to learn. So, I have a personal commitment to learn all I can, in order to impart knowledge to others. Part and parcel of that personal commitment is teaching others to excel as whatever endeavors they chose. Thus, in my continual learning on the graduate and legal fronts, I can say confidently that taking the opportunity to teach others, and to then witness their application of that knowledge gives me the perpetual satisfaction.

Of course, I rely on my personal experiences to bring empathy and enlightenment to the student-learners. At an early age, I learned about the concept of bacteria. How it can be good, forming the basis of medicine, or bad, forming the basis of sickness. Thus, I have won numerous science fairs, and even interned as an assistant researcher at the Museum of Natural History. And, in these modern times, understanding science can frame the individual's idea about global climate. Also, sociological factors within the community may reflect on whether or not an individual embraces certain political

Bar Exam

Bar Exam

I have taken and passed the bar exam on my first sitting. In preparation for taking the bar exam, I took a bar exam preparation course that taught me about honing and refining both my reading comprehension and essay-writing for specific jurisdictions. From my personal experience, I have modified methods which I can teach to others about taking the bar examination.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I interned as a Congressional Press Secretary and Speechwriter. I gave speeches while in the Air Force, and acted as mistress of ceremony/emcee at several national events, where I routinely gave speech remarks and introduced guests. Currently, I hold volunteer officer positions in local Toastmasters International clubs (these clubs are dedicated to enhancing one's leadership and communication skills) in the Washington, D.C. and Virginia areas, where I give speeches, in-person and on Zoom calls, before live audiences.
Sociology

Sociology

A part of my undergraduate degree, at the University of Mississippi, was the minor degree that I received in Sociology studies. In order to successfully minor in Sociology coursework, I was required to take (and complete) ten classes in this study area. I successfully passed all Sociology courses with an A average.
Speech

Speech

I have personally conducted and evaluated many speech practices. As a Toastmaster member (the Toastmasters organization is dedicated to enhancing its members leadership and communication skills) I have mentored individuals on voice pitch and placement of lips, teeth, and tongue to achieve clear enunciation when giving a speech. Additionally, I have spoken and written about voice articulation and projection.

Knowledgeable and Wise Tutor

Ms. Sharon was an informative tutor with great insights on what to expect and ask in Law School. For instance, She taught me the IRAC system that will not only assist with understanding Law, but organizing my thoughts in an efficient manner so I can speak clearly. She was also patient and understanding and I am extremely gracious for her guidance. Ms. Sharon proved to be an invaluable resource during my law school preparation. Her deep understanding of the legal field allowed her to provide me with practical insights and actionable advice on navigating the challenges of law school. One of the most impactful lessons I learned from Ms. Sharon was the IRAC method (Issue, Rule, Analysis, Conclusion). She expertly explained how this system could be used not only to comprehend complex legal concepts but also to structure my thoughts and arguments effectively. This skill has proven indispensable in both my written and oral communication, enabling me to articulate my points with clarity and precision. Beyond her knowledge and teaching ability, Ms. Sharon's patience and understanding created a supportive learning environment. She consistently demonstrated a genuine interest in my progress and was always willing to adapt her approach to meet my individual needs. I am deeply grateful for her guidance and mentorship, which will undoubtedly play a significant role in my law school success.

Unique insights

Sharon and I met to discuss what I was hoping for from a tutor, which she was ten minutes late for. Afterwards, we planned to meet again to help prepare for my midterms for law school and after sending her supplementary material I thought would help her in our session, it seemed she was overwhelmed. A quarter of our session was spent in awkward silence, the other half was spent with Sharon saying " That's not what I do" or "You had to explicitly tell me" in reference to whenever I would ask her to share her screen so I could see how she might have wrote something herself. It also felt I was teaching her some of the material she told me she knew, such as IRAC. What I thought was the most difficult part of our session was when I would ask her a question on something relating to analysis, she would become defensive as if I offended her with my question I didn't know the answer to. I ended our session early and she did message with with advice and an essay I was hoping for during our session. However; she is a great communicator and I think she does care. It just was not the best fit between us and I hope my review does not persuade any students from pursing Sharon as a tutor.

Sharon A. is a champion in teaching!!!!!

My experience tells me that Sharon A. is a champion in teaching!!!!! I never knew my English could improve so much, and I never thought I could understand legal terms so easily. I have gained confidence in my English in legal vocabulary and speech. She ignited my passion for learning and helped make me enjoy making rapid progress in my studies every day. If you have the opportunity you will know that her sessions are worth at least 10 times what she charges. More importantly, I firmly believe that many people will be like me and get unprecedented breakthrough progress after taking classes with Sharon. It is no doubt, I will continue to learn from her for a long time.
