I attended the historical black college, Bowie State University, for my undergraduate BS degree in Biology; I graduated Magna cum laude. I am now a PhD student at the University of Maryland studying Organic Chemistry. I have worked as a tutor/ teaching assistant for 6 years. I predominantly have experience with undergraduate students. I love helping students achieve their academic goals.

I have four (4) years of experience working in a National Science Foundation funded laboratory. I have done international field research in many areas or agriculture/Botany. I have additionally worked as a collegiate intern at the United States Department of Agriculture for (2) years. I have taken several college courses in Botany as well. I have also worked with a team of contractors to design a hydroponics system for a university.

In addition to having completed several college-level English courses, I have also won fellowships (amounting to over 30,000usd) for my public speaking abilities. I traveled to the south by southwest (SXSW) trade show to participate in a public speaking presentation. I have some experience in business writing (proposals). I have written for scholarly peer-reviewed journals that are pending publication in the year 2022. I have worked as a tutor at Bowie State University for technical writing. I currently am employed as a teaching assistant at the University of Maryland where I proof-read many papers from undergraduate students

I was homeschooled from 8th-12th grade; combined with my current undergrad and graduate degrees that are in various fields, I am well-suited to work cohesively to tutor a student that is homeschooled. I have also taken graduate courses that specialize in the different ways and methodologies to teach and engage a wide variety of students.
