Hello, I'm Georgia, and I have been teaching foreign languages to children and adolescents for over ten years! I have over a decade of experience teaching Spanish, Greek, and English as foreign languages to diverse age groups, from Pre-K to high school, to students from multicultural backgrounds and diverse learning needs.
My journey with Spanish began with a double-major bachelor's degree from Towson University in International Studies and Professional Spanish Language. Graduating with honors, I studied abroad and lived in Sevilla, Spain, where I fully immersed myself in the culture and maximized my language skills.
As a tutor, I have prepared hundreds of adolescent students for Proficiency Exams such as: DELE, SIELE, Cambridge, MSU, TOEFL, and more, with over 98% success rate. I work with my students to help enhance their listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and writing skills. Currently, I am an 8th grade middle school Spanish Teacher in MD, where I use a combination of these skills on a daily basis. I teach hundreds of students daily, in addition to lesson planning, curriculum planning, classroom management, assessments, and much more!
I also hold a master's degree in Applied Educational Psychology from the American College of Greece and have substantial experience in Special Education. I have worked as a 1:1 teacher in Special Education at a private British Academy and have served as a Behavior Data Specialist in a clinical setting in addition to holding RBT credentials. I am skilled in consulting with parents, assisting in IEP and 504 plans, behavior management, research-based methods, learning differences, and enhancing classroom success.
My teaching philosophy is that every student learns differently, with or without learning differences, and I adapt my methods to fit their learning styles. I am here to support my students, LISTEN to them, set goals, and collaborate with their parents/caregivers to provide the necessary "tool bag" to help motivate them to succeed.
