I am currently completing my bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Childhood and Adolescent Development, where I have developed a strong foundation in learning, cognition, child development, and human behavior. I have years of experience working with children of all backgrounds and abilities from infancy to adolescence, including about two years of experience working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with children of varying ages, abilities, and support needs. As someone who also lives with disabilities, I bring both professional experience and personal understanding to supporting students with patience, empathy, and respect for neurodiversity.
My tutoring philosophy centers on the Montessori method, building confidence, and using positive reinforcement to support children's learning. I focus on helping students develop resilience, independence, and intrinsic motivation through their own curiosity rather than relying solely on memorization. I also work to help students turn the concepts they struggle with into manageable steps, working on organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom. I truly believe students succeed more when learning is personalized to their learning style, strengths, and goals.
In addition to academic tutoring, I also teach painting and drawing. I have maintained a strong portfolio of artwork, participated in art exhibitions, and through my experiences contributed to the inspiration of the development of Baltimore's first exhibition highlighting invisible disabilities through art. I enjoy helping students strengthen both their technical artistic skills and their creative confidence.
My goal is to help every student feel supported, capable, and excited to learn!
I hope to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from those mistakes!
