My credentials include a Doctorate in Education from Taft University, a Master's in Curriculum & Instruction from McDaniel College, and a Bachelors Degree in Math Education. I have taught math education (6th - 12th grade) in different math areas (i.e. Algebra I, II, Geometry, Pre-Calc, and Calculus) for the last 15 years as well as tutored during that time. I have enjoyed the opportunity to teach a diverse group of children. My experiences educating have helped me blossom into a well-rounded and compassionate educator, who takes each students' unique goals, needs, and interests into account, and create effective lesson plans and activities to accommodate them. My ultimate goal is to push students towards their math potential as well as to increase their confidence in the subject matter.
My greatest capability is facilitating all styles of learners. I develop multisensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learners. I also incorporate various forms of technology, learning centers, manipulatives, group work, and thematic units to teach new concepts and materials. Furthermore, I make certain that each child receives individualized praise and encouragement, insuring that he/she remains motivated, and does not become frustrated or quit. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my skills would benefit your academic program. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
