Hi! My name is Nane, and I am a Bioengineering major at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am also a pre-med student in UMD’s competitive BS–MD program. My engineering coursework has strengthened my analytical thinking, problem-solving, math, and physics skills, while my pre-med studies have built a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and the physical sciences. Balancing these rigorous programs while maintaining a GPA in the 95th percentile has helped me develop discipline, organization, and resilience.
I have experience tutoring 9th–10th grade students in mathematics and frequently tutor college peers in chemistry, biology, calculus, and differential equations. In addition, I have extensive experience working with children ages 5–13 through mentorship and youth engagement. This has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps. I aim to build a strong foundational understanding and confidence rather than rote memorization. I believe math and science are for everyone, and with the right guidance, patience, and encouragement, every student can succeed.
