Encouraging and Experienced Tutor

Hello, I'm Sheena and I love bringing joy and motivation to learning. It is so gratifying to see students grow and respond to the encouragement. I have over 10 years of project management, system design, and finance experience. I am a current Doctorate in Health Informatics candidate at the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics where I have been able to maximize my analytical skills and apply them to my tutoring sessions. In addition to tutoring business, accounting, math, test prep, and English subjects, I enjoy helping students proof read and edit their assignments. I am willing to spend extra time to help students succeed and to ensure their work reflects their absolute best effort.

I believe children and adults continuing their education respond positively to patience, encouragement, and thought leadership.

I teach and tutor because it is my joy to bring encouragement, confidence, and opportunity to students. As your tutor, I would assess your current skill level and discuss your learning goals. I will incorporate resources provided by you, your school, or your parent.

My love of teaching began at a very early age; I tutored elementary school students in reading and math while in high school and during college I tutored high school students for their ACTs and several subjects such as math, science, and English. I attended West Virginia Wesleyan where I completed a double major in Philosophy and History, focusing on law. Teaching is a passion for me; one that I have been fortunate to use often through non-profit and volunteer organizations. After college, I went on complete my Master's in Business Administration at American University, where I routinely tutored students in areas such as marketing, statistics, economics, and accounting. I also continued to tutor elementary students through a local non-profit program.
