I'm an incoming junior studying English Language and Literature. I completed my Associate's Degree at Prince George's Community College, and I am continuing my undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park in the fall. My tutoring experience is rooted in peer support, mentorship, and community-based education. As the founder of my community college's Book Club — named New Club of the Year in 2026 — I regularly facilitated discussions that asked students to engage critically with texts and articulate their responses with clarity and intention. That work taught me how to meet readers and writers at their level and draw out ideas they didn't know they had. I'm comfortable working one-on-one and in small groups, and I've supported students across a range of ages and skill levels, from high schoolers drafting their first analytical essays to college students navigating more complex academic arguments.
My approach to essay writing is process-oriented. I focus first on understanding — what is the student trying to say, and what's getting in the way of them saying it clearly? From there, we work on structure, evidence, and voice. I'm especially skilled at helping students move from a vague idea to a focused thesis, and from a rough draft to something they're proud to submit. I believe every student already has something worth saying; my job is to help them say it well.
