I am a first grade teacher with professional experience helping students build strong academic foundations in reading, phonics, writing, and elementary math. I currently teach in a classroom setting where I provide whole-group instruction, small-group intervention, and individualized academic support. I am also completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, which has strengthened my understanding of child development, learning behavior, and effective strategies for helping students develop confidence and mastery in academic skills. My background in both education and psychology allows me to approach tutoring with patience, structure, and an understanding of how students learn best.
My teaching experience includes working with a diverse range of learners, including struggling readers, English language learners, and students who benefit from targeted academic support. I regularly use phonics-based instruction, guided reading strategies, differentiated instruction, and interactive learning activities to support student growth. In my classroom, I frequently work with students in small groups and one-on-one to provide reading intervention, strengthen comprehension, improve writing skills, and reinforce important math concepts. My goal is to help students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed academically.
Although my professional classroom experience is primarily with early elementary students, my tutoring approach is not limited to elementary grade levels. The instructional strategies I use to support reading comprehension, writing development, study skills, and foundational math concepts can also benefit older students who need additional academic support. I focus on meeting each student where they are academically, identifying areas for growth, and creating a supportive learning environment that encourages progress, confidence, and long-term success.
