Hello! My name is Emily and I’m a student at the University of Chicago studying Economics and East Asian Languages. In high school, I received a 35 on the ACT with 0 missed questions on English or Reading, a 1550 on the SAT with a 760 on the English section, and a 39 on the IB Diploma with all 6s and 7s. My rigorous college reading and writing programs also have prepared me to help other students in their studies and help them grow to love the art of the English language. I have taken 5+ years of college level Korean classes and am also able to teach the alphabet, basic/intermediate grammar and vocabulary, and conduct reading, speaking, listening, and writing practice. I’m eager to help students achieve their goals of scoring high on exams and getting into the college of their dreams — I know I have certainly loved the journey!
I have experience tutoring in SAT, ACT, and violin before. I’m skilled at creating individualized lesson plans for each student, fostering an uplifting and supportive student-teacher relationship, and truly helping each student achieve their goals. If you choose to learn with me, I promise to put your individual needs first and make learning fun like it should be! I’m looking forward to meeting you and hope to be your partner in your academic journey — please feel free to reach out with any questions.
