I'm Dianne! I graduated Cum Laude from Boston University College of Arts and Sciences with a major in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB) and a minor in Psychology. I also graduated with my Doctor of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine. During college, I realized my passion for health education and understood the importance of patience and community while learning a new skill. So often, the journey to academic success is isolating and daunting. My goal has always been to transform the learning experience into one of understanding and less of memorizing. I use lesson plans and work with students to establish realistic and manageable goals and checkpoints.

I have more than 7 years of tutoring experience, having tutored students throughout undergrad and during medical school. I have worked both one-on-one and in small group settings and am comfortable in either. While I am well versed in all levels of science, I've most often tutored students in Intro Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biostatistics, Microbiology, Psychology and Anatomy. I enjoy each of those subjects equally and am always eager to sharpen my skills to help students reach their fullest potential.

I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible to reach their goals. I am very flexible with timing and don't mind unconventional tutoring hours. I am very receptive to feedback and suggestions from both students and parents. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any addition questions or to schedule a lesson!

Biostatistics

Biostatistics

I am a recent medical school graduate and during my time in medical school, I tutored over 50 students (in groups and in one-on-one sessions) in biostatistics and epidemiology/probability. I received a 99% on my biostatistics unit in medical school and helped design the curriculum for how biostatistics will be taught moving forward. I majored in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology in undergrad, taking advanced calculus, quantum mechanics, and advanced statistics.
Epidemiology

Epidemiology

I am a recent medical school graduate and during my time in medical school, I tutored over 50 students (in groups and in one-on-one sessions) in biostatistics and epidemiology/probability. I received a 99% on my biostatistics unit in medical school and helped design the curriculum for how biostatistics & epidemiology will be taught moving forward. I majored in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology in undergrad, taking advanced calculus, quantum mechanics, advanced statistics and epidemiology alongside my public health research.
Genetics

Genetics

As a current medical doctor, a lot of my academic training has involved a foundation of genetics. Genetics is a strong-suit of mine as well because I have worked on research in the realm of genetics and have deeply studied the different forms of inheritance and how certain inheritance patterns influence disease prevalence. I am very comfortable teaching intro genetics and medical genetics.
MCAT

MCAT

As a recent medical school graduate, I understand the importance of receiving optimal scores on standardized testing. I have tutored students in each of the corresponding areas of the MCAT and have yet to have a student of mine score less than the 80th percentile in each subject area. I, myself, received a 508 on the MCAT when I took it in Winter/January 2017 and was able to matriculate to medical school without taking any time off.
Psychology

Psychology

I was a psychology minor in college and a current practicing surgical resident.
Sociology

Sociology

As a current medical doctor, a significant amount of my training was devoted to understanding sociology and the importance of human relationships. In undergrad, I studied psychology and sociology as a minor to my degree in biochemistry & molecular biology. I was inducted into the American Psychological Association due to my 4.0 average in my minor.
USMLE

USMLE

As a recent medical school graduate, I understand the importance of receiving optimal scores on standardized testing. Currently, I aid students in understanding the various organ systems of the body as they prepare for the USMLE Step1 and Step2CK exams. I passed both of these examinations on my first attempt and successfully matched into a top surgical residency program.
