Hi there! I'm Lincoln. I graduated summa cum laude with honors in Mathematics, with additional coursework in computer science. Math has been a passion of mine since college, where proofs-based courses and problem-solving competitions allow me to recognize the creative aspects of the subject.
I focus on improving students' conceptual mastery of topics, using activities and breaking jargon down into more intuitive explanations to help build their understanding. Too often, students are taught to imitate certain problem-solving techniques without actually recognizing why the problems work the way they do. My goal is always to close that gap, so the student knows when to apply a given concept to a new problem. I also ensure there's time for students to run through problems with minimal direct help in order to evaluate the student's understanding and boost their confidence. No two students are the same, so I do my best to find the right pace for each individual.
