Hey I’m Jarett! I’m currently a medical student at Howard University College of Medicine and a former Assistant Nurse Manager with over six years of clinical experience in nursing. Before starting medical school, I worked in leadership and bedside nursing roles, where I mentored and trained nurses, nursing students, and new graduates. During that time, I was recognized with awards including the DAISY Nurse Leader Award, New Nurse Leader of the Year, and Herb DeCordova Kindness Award, highlighting my commitment to teaching, mentorship, and compassionate care.

My tutoring focus is on nursing, NCLEX prep, anatomy, physiology, and the biological sciences. I know how overwhelming exams can feel, so my teaching style is structured but encouraging. I break down complex concepts into simple, memorable explanations and connect them to real-world clinical practice. Whether you’re studying for a major exam, trying to strengthen your science foundation, or preparing for the NCLEX, I’ll meet you at your level and help you build the confidence and skills to succeed.

I’ve worked with students ranging from high school through graduate-level health sciences. My approach is highly interactive so I’ll ask you questions, check your understanding, and give you strategies you can use long after our session. I even created an animated video on Parkinson’s disease for a biochemistry course, which combined humor and science in a way that helped classmates remember the material. Overall, I believe in making learning engaging, practical, and tailored to your goals.
