With a professional background in science education, I hold a BS in Environmental Science, two masters degrees, including a MEd in Environmental Education, and hold a valid teaching certification. My academic preparation focused on making complex scientific concepts accessible, accurate, and engaging for a wide range of learners. Because of my educational and professional background, my scientific knowledge spans a great number of scientific disciplines.

I have three years of experience as a classroom science teacher, in addition to my professional scientific field work experience. I've worked with middle school students in the classroom, but in my previous professional work, I provided support and training to entry-level staff. My teaching approach emphasizes breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps, using real-world examples, and encouraging critical thinking. I incorporate assessment strategies to monitor progress and adjust instruction to ensure each student’s success.

I have worked with students of varying ability levels, including those who need extra support as well as those seeking enrichment, all within the same classroom space. My experience includes helping students prepare for tests, improve their grades, build long-term study skills, and build confidence. I prioritize creating a supportive and patient learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.
