I hold a PhD in Information Systems and currently serve as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Howard University. My academic background and teaching experience allow me to support students across a wide range of computer science topics, including Python, C++, data structures, software engineering, and introductory cybersecurity.

I have been teaching at the university level for several years, where I have taught courses such as Computer Science I, II, and III (Python and C++), Exploring Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Cybersecurity. In this role, I work with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels—ranging from complete beginners to more advanced students working on complex programming assignments and projects.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have extensive one-on-one mentoring experience, helping students with assignments, exam preparation, debugging code, and building projects. I also guide students in developing problem-solving strategies and computational thinking skills, which are essential for long-term success in computer science.

My teaching approach is student-centered and highly adaptable. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and use real-world examples to make learning more intuitive. I emphasize hands-on practice, guided problem-solving, and interactive learning, ensuring that students not only understand the material but can apply it independently. I also tailor each session based on the student’s goals—whether that is improving grades, preparing for exams, or gaining confidence in programming.

I have worked with students at different levels, including high school, college, and adult learners, both in structured classroom environments and individualized settings. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

Approved Subjects

C++

C++

I have extensive experience teaching C++ at the university level as a Lecturer at Howard University, where I cover topics such as object-oriented programming, pointers, memory management, and data structures. I help students build a strong foundation in core C++ concepts, including classes, inheritance, recursion, and efficient algorithm design. I also guide students through debugging, code optimization, and best practices for writing clean, maintainable code. My approach emphasizes hands-on practice and real-world problem solving to prepare students for coursework, projects, and technical interviews.
Data Science

Data Science

I have a strong background in data science through my PhD in Information Systems and my teaching experience at Howard University. My expertise includes data analysis, data visualization, machine learning fundamentals, and working with tools such as Python (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn) for real-world datasets. I have also conducted research involving multimodal data analysis, combining text and image data for applications such as social media analytics and risk factor modeling. I focus on helping students understand both the theoretical concepts and practical implementation, enabling them to confidently analyze data and build meaningful insights.
Data Structures

Data Structures

I have extensive experience teaching data structures at the university level as a Lecturer at Howard University, where I cover topics such as arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, and hash tables in both Python and C++. I focus on helping students understand not just how to implement these structures, but when and why to use them, emphasizing time and space complexity analysis. I regularly guide students through problem-solving techniques, coding assignments, and debugging, ensuring they can apply concepts to real-world scenarios and technical interviews. My approach combines clear explanations, visual breakdowns, and hands-on practice to build strong foundational and advanced skills in data structures.
