I am a certified Art teacher who practices Disciplined Based Art Education(DBAE), a philosophy of teaching where lessons from the visual arts are developed into interdisciplinary partners with core subjects.

I’ve been teaching Art for sixteen years, my professional qualifications and experiences have grown and flourished due to being married to a member of the US Air Force and moving to different locations in America and Japan. After graduating from Florida State University in 1995, I worked for:

*Chisai Aka Gaku (Little Red School), Taught the alphabet to children in Okinawa
*Artworks Studio, San Antonio, Texas

While currently unemployed I have remained active in the Arts and education.

I have already acquired my Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia State certifications. I volunteer at several schools in the Hagerstown area. Since August, 2010 I have been a substitute in Washington County. In my spare time, I have been taking a stained glass class. Finally, I wrote and illustrated a children’s book, about the adventures of moving from place to place. I have also completed a few college workshops to help me with the publishing process. I look forward to working with your children.
