PhD economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) who trains serious professionals to pass the CFA Level I exam through deep conceptual understanding — not shallow memorization.
I recently passed the CFA Level I exam myself, and I train candidates to think the way the exam expects, not the way textbooks explain it.
I work at the SEC — one of the top financial regulators in the world — where I have spent more than five years as an economist analyzing investment advisers, investment companies, hedge funds, private funds, transfer agents, swaps, options, futures, cryptocurrency and other digital assets, and clearing agencies. I previously worked at the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), where my research focused on asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, housing markets, risk management, and capital requirements.
I have taught over 500 students at Penn State and the University of Virginia and mentored 29 economics interns at the SEC. My background also includes advanced work in econometrics, machine learning, hypothesis testing, regression modeling, time-series analysis, and macroeconomic research.
I tutor any CFA Level I topic and adjust to your learning style. I focus on true comprehension and exam reasoning — not memorization. You will receive structure, strategy, and targeted guidance — but I will expect you to practice between sessions.
Please note: My current rate is a temporary introductory discount. As I gain more students and reviews, my rate will increase — so now is the best time to begin. DEEP Tutoring (Doctor of Economics Exam Prep) is fully independent of both CFA Institute and the SEC.
