Learning is a very personal experience, and not everyone learns the same way. Yet, somehow most of us are required to approach complex topics in the same way even if the content or angle doesn't make sense to us individually.
I am a Biotechnology Scientist with 6+ years of experience in analytical development focused in Cell and Gene Therapy, holding a Master's degree in Biological Sciences from UMBC. Though I do not have formal teaching history on my resume, I do have experience in a teaching setting having spent the first three years of my career as a martial arts instructor. Through that, I worked with age groups spanning 4 - 65+ years old and came to appreciate the need for individualized learning.
I love sharing my knowledge on topics that I know well, and for those I am less knowledgeable on I take pride in figuring out. I don't fault anyone for not understanding- no one should be expected to be a scientist, especially when science is often unapproachable. However, I believe all people have the capacity to learn anything if they get the right patience and support.
If science is a sore spot for you, let me help you figure it out!
My core field of study is Biology. Some of the other subjects and topics I am most interested in and confident with include Music (and music theory), Art, World History (and other social sciences), and Writing (formal and creative). My weakest spots tend to be in high level Math and Physics, so I probably won't be much help with your calculus homework.
Learning can be hard, but it doesn't have to be.
