I am a 30 year old graduate from the South New Hampshire University for which I majored in Sports Management. It became my chosen major because I fell short of my dream to play professional football. I played football from the age of seven until my 16 years of age. I was the beast and even though I played in local community boys and girls league. I was a star. I played running back and quarter back. In high school I shut down my dream for hanging out and not displaying the academic skill I had held since elementary school. I was labeled a TAG student (Talent and Gifted) at a young age and displayed all of that facets until my sophomore year. Big problem was peer pressure. I wanted to be like the baddest and not the brightest. I did not want to share that I had brains. Surely the lesson I learned from that now that it did not get me into a Division One School.
The moral and journey to this is I had to suck it up. I did get accepted into Florida A&M for it is located next to Florida State the school I said it was where I wanted go as a young boy. It was the college Dion Saunders went to for he was my hero. I had the carpet and the plans rolled out to me but did not grab the brass ring or the advise from my parents or the words of wisdom many times shared by my coaches. It took many years to catch my dream and the opportunities did not present itself for my NCAA eligibility ran out. I played and tried out a Division Three school. I played arena football, coached flag football and supported up coming high school players. I am now an advocate and a supporter of all upcoming athletes. I will share my journey and my growth to aspire, encourage and skillfully help who ever chooses to work with me.
