I am a licensed occupational therapist and certified handwriting specialist through Learning Without Tears, with more than 13 years of clinical experience, including approximately 7 years specializing in pediatric occupational therapy. I am a licensed occupational therapist and certified handwriting specialist through Learning Without Tears, with more than 13 years of clinical experience, including approximately 7 years specializing in pediatric occupational therapy. I have worked with children and adolescents ages 3–21 in outpatient pediatric clinics, homes, community settings, brick-and-mortar schools, and telehealth. My passion is helping students develop legible, confident, and efficient handwriting by strengthening the foundational skills that support written communication.

A significant part of my current work involves helping K–12 students improve letter formation, sizing, spacing, alignment, pencil control, and writing fluency. My occupational therapy background also allows me to consider underlying areas that may affect handwriting, including fine motor coordination, visual-motor integration, strength, posture, endurance, and self-regulation. I collaborate closely with parents and teachers by providing practical strategies and resources to promote carryover between lessons.

I earned my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 2012. As a certified handwriting specialist, I incorporate structured, evidence-informed instruction and multisensory strategies into individualized lessons.

My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and engaging. I meet each student at their current level and help them build the skills, confidence, and independence needed for more successful handwriting. As a mother of 3 amazing children, I understand the importance of helping children feel supported, capable, and proud of their progress. Incredible, effective, and fun handwriting tutor

I was a client of Ms. Bola for about 10 months, and during our sessions, my handwriting improved massively. Before our sessions, all my teachers had trouble reading what I wrote.
