My name is Richard and I hold two degrees in piano performance from Peabody Conservatory of Music. I have been teaching piano for over 45 years to over 4000 private students. I studied piano with eleven piano teachers from Julliard School of Music, Curtis Institute of Music, Paris Conservatory, Towson University, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Peabody Conservatory of Music plus two private piano teachers over a period of seventeen years. I also am a former piano teacher at Anne Arundel Community College. Five of my piano teachers can be found on the internet. I wrote and published my own piano course method. My lessons are 30 to 45 minutes or more depending on the need for more time at no additional charge.
My piano teaching background is based on the piano teaching methods taught by Chopin, Mozart, Liszt, Schnabel, Vengerova and Leschetizky among other great piano teachers of the eighteenth century. My students can perform, from memory, on a level in nine months that must teachers can't have their students accomplish in two years. The most important part of learning piano technique is to memorize fingering patterns and watch your hands when practicing. Always refer back to the music from time to time. In all the years of teaching piano I never got a new student from another teacher that I didn't have to reteach.
I am looking forward to signing up new students.
