I have tutored students from elementary school through high school in a variety of subjects, from 2nd graders in math and reading to high school students in Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2.
I really enjoy working with students of all ages. I enjoy teaching because it allows me to personalize lessons to meet the needs of individual students. I also have more of an opportunity to interact with students in tutoring than I do in a class full of students. I am a flexible and supportive teacher so I adjust my tutoring to the needs of the students that I am tutoring.
I previously taught elementary school, so I am very familiar with elementary math. I have now taught high school (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability) for the past 4 years and have also tutored those subjects. I am also teaching GED preparation courses. I am very familiar with the math content of these courses and I also have experience working with students who have different levels of comfort with math and the concepts from these courses. I have a large number of strategies that can help students who are struggling with a particular concept.
Please contact me if you're interested in finding out more about my tutoring style or if you would like to discuss scheduling a lesson.
