Having come to Washington DC for my undergrad degree in International Business, I have since become a local, hopping around Virginia and Maryland as well. I have worked in the world of private investment finance, as well as international trade promotion in Mexico, although my most treasured job was with the Department of Commerce. I have since completed a Master's degree with the University of Maryland in Intelligence and Homeland Security Management.
Although I have not held a full-time teaching position, I have been tutoring students since my high school days, and am currently in the process of obtaining my teaching certification while subbing at a local private school. Nothing thrills me more than seeing a student break through an obstacle in front of them, and reaching a target they never thought possible.
My GRE scores are 166 Verbal (97th percentile), 162 Quantitative (80th percentile), and 5.0 Analytical Writing (92nd percentile).
Debate and public speaking have been the cornerstone of my extracurricular activities since grade school. I placed top 16 in the 2012 National Speech and Debate Association North American Finals for Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, as well as 1st in the 2012 DECA Nationals for Entrepreneurship. I placed 3rd in the 2014 Deloitte Battle of the Beltway Case Competition, and 1st in the 2015 Kogod Case Competition.
Both my undergraduate and graduate degrees were in business field, the former in International Business and the latter in Management, with a Homeland Security focus.
I am excited to work with students in need of help, because those students will one day go on to tutor the next generation, and so on. You can pass your next test; you can ace your next class; you can be the student you want to be.
