I have been teaching for 22 years in the special education setting. Most of teaching experience is in the preschool setting working on the school readiness skills, but I have also had experience in teaching Kindergarten and first graders in special education I have taught reading, math, writing, science, and social studies during my teaching career. I also work with students and their families on social skills at school and at home. I have recently moved to middle school and support students with IEP's.
I enjoy seeing the growth that my students make over time. That is the best reward one can see. I feel that building that relationship with a student from day one is critical to the success in a student. Knowing how to reach a child so that he/she can reach his/her full potential is vital. I often get creative with how I teach using sensory activities to make learning fun for the students. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a lesson.
