Hello! My name is Diva P. and I graduated with a Bachelor's in Modern Languages, Linguistics, and Intercultural Communications and a minor in Sociology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I have previous Spanish tutoring experience through the UMBC Athletics Department. I also used to tutor elementary school students in my neighborhood to help them catch up on their reading and math levels. I love to tutor one on one so I can really get to know the learning style of the student and teach accordingly so I can make it fun for them! The best thing I can do is help with homework and work on the concepts that you have most trouble with.
I studied Spanish for 8 years and studied abroad with a language based program in Spain for a semester while living with a host family who helped me become a fluent speaker. While studying abroad I also participated in a tutoring program to teach English to Spanish students ages 7-12.
My degree allowed me to dive into my passion for learning about other cultures and countries which includes geography, sociodemographics, and historical accounts from all over the world. I am always excited to talk about the stories of our past.
