Many people ask, "Why do you teach?" My immediate response is I dedicate myself in driving one's desire and eagerness to learn mathematics, as well as, instilling the critical value of an ownership of learning. After instruction, I find these values very self-evident in my students, whether they are studying early arithmetic or advanced differential equations.

I have 17 years of experience in tutoring and teaching mathematics in many private and public colleges and universities throughout Maryland and Virginia, as well as, tutoring for private companies Metropolitan DC area. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a Minor in Economics. I also attained a Master of Science degree in Education and worked in a Doctoral program in Higher Education.

I have tutored and taught many various subjects in mathematics. These include: Arithmetic, Pre-algebra, Algebra I (Basic Algebra), Geometry, Algebra II (Intermediate Algebra), Pre-calculus, Calculus I (Differential Calculus), Calculus II (Integral Calculus), Calculus III (Multivariable Calculus), Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Statistics.

Again, educators must instill in our students a sense of ownership in their learning by preparing them for the immediate and future innovations in the world today. Helping others to achieve their potential and dreams will always be my ultimate goal.

I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to address your needs and opportunities as a student of mathematics. See you soon.

Differential Equations

In today’s tech, savvy world, Differential Equations and their applications play a critical role and maybe the most useful subject in all mathematics and yet, arguably the most misunderstood. In pure mathematics, students study differential equations to find homogeneous, as well as, particular solutions. The quest for solutions studied are developed in high school, undergraduate, and graduate work. These include Ordinary differential equations, Partial differential equations, and Linear and Non-linear differential equations. Along with their importance in pure mathematics, differential equations play their most important role in their diverse applications. Although their applicable to an infinite array of topics, I personally, studied their applications with respect to (1) Physics – through mechanics using Newtonian principles, (2) Biology – through the study of Predator/prey relationships, (3) Chemistry – through reaction rates of certain chemicals, and (4) Economics (in which I minored at the University of Maryland) – through the study of various logistic growth models. Although I will always and continuously pursue educating myself on this subject, there came a time where I had to teach it also. I have taught and tutored the mathematical subject of Differential Equations at the following public and private educational institutions: (1) Frederick Community College, (2) Howard Community College, (3) Sylvan Learning Centers, (4) Baltimore International College, (5) ITT Technical Institute, (6) University of Maryland at College Park, (7) Montgomery College at Germantown, and (8) Shepherd University at Shepherdstown, WV.

Very helpful

Anthony helped my daughter prepare for her AP Calculus BC test. He did a great job explaining everything in a way that made sense to her in the on-line lesson.

Knowlegable, funny and makes learning fun

Mr. Anthony is hands-down the best tutor I could have asked for. He most definitely knows his stuff and always breaks it down in the most easy-to-understand way. My grades improved substantially through him, from an F to a B. Mr. Anthony also cares about those he tutors, and builds a one-on-one relationship with them. He is also very funny, which makes the lessons enjoyable. I never thought I would say it, but because of Mr. Anthony, I actually look forward to learning Calculus just so I can review it with him. I wish 6/5 stars were an option, because that is what he deserves.

Patient and knowledgable

We were reviewing trigonometry polar coordinates. He helped with the packet. Not only did we successfully completed the packet but we went ahead. I will definitely schedule him again. I will definitely schedule another lesson with him again.

Patient with a capital P.

Anthony was amazing with my son in Algebra 2 he desperately needed to pass to graduate. I can't say enough good things about Anthony and his work with my less than thrilled son.
