I am a certified special education teacher with Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland and have worked in education since 2017. I currently serve students in kindergarten through second grade and specialize in reading intervention, foundational literacy, and supporting students with diverse learning needs. In addition to my classroom experience, I am pursuing a master’s degree in education and have extensive experience developing individualized instruction, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with families to support student success.

My teaching experience includes working with students in both small-group and one-on-one settings. I provide structured literacy instruction using evidence-based approaches aligned with Orton-Gillingham principles and support students in developing phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and reading comprehension skills. I also have experience supporting students with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and learning disabilities. Through my work as a special educator, I regularly differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner and help students build confidence as they develop academic skills.

I enjoy helping students discover that they are capable of success when instruction is tailored to their strengths and learning styles. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and growing as learners. Whether a student needs targeted reading intervention, academic support, or help developing learning strategies, I strive to provide individualized instruction that leads to meaningful progress and increased confidence.
