I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and a Master’s degree in Reading. I am certified in Orton-Gillingham to address the needs of dyslexic readers and writers, with additional certifications in English Language Development (ELD). I bring over 30 years of experience teaching students in grades PK–5 across all subject areas, including Special Education. My professional background includes working with students from diverse racial and linguistic backgrounds, as well as students with ADHD, autism, and emotional regulation needs, in both general and special education settings.
Throughout my career, I have taught in the general education classroom, small group and one-on-one instructional settings, including targeted intervention and tutoring. I utilize a systematic, multisensory approach to reading and writing that builds on students’ strengths while directly addressing areas of need. My instruction is intentionally engaging and incorporates games and hands-on activities to foster confidence, motivation, and enjoyment, ensuring students look forward to their learning sessions while making meaningful academic progress.
