Hi, my name is Lydia! I've been tutoring since 2015, when I got my start at the Stockton University Math Tutoring Center. It was an excellent way to study while completing my Biochemistry degree. Working with students at all levels of college science helped me discover how much I enjoy breaking down complex ideas and building students’ confidence. I loved to see the proverbial light bulb go off when someone learned a new idea. That early experience shaped the foundation of my teaching style, which emphasizes patience, structure, and adapting each concept to the student’s way of thinking.
My teaching skills continued to grow when I served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Hawai‘i, where I supported students in both laboratory and lecture settings. Those semesters gave me firsthand experience guiding students through challenging material, answering questions in real time, and helping them develop the academic habits needed for success in demanding STEM courses. Over the years, I’ve also worked extensively with neurodiverse students, and I tailor my approach to each learner—whether they benefit from visual breakdowns, step-by-step frameworks, or alternative pacing that makes the content more accessible.
Since then, I have spent over a decade tutoring primarily college students in an online format. I enjoy creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring difficult topics, and learning at a pace that fits their needs. My goal is always to help them move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling capable and confident. By combining my academic background with years of hands-on teaching and individualized support, I aim to help every student navigate their coursework with clarity.
