Hello!

My name is Chris, and I would love to help you with your chemistry or math classes! I am a current fourth-year chemistry major with over 2 years of tutoring experience. After graduating, my career goals involve pursuing a Ph.D. in chemistry before teaching at the university level. But, before that, I will be spending 2 years as a post-bac researcher at the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute.

I am also a CRLA certified tutor, a national certification that I went through approximately 40 hours of training to achieve. I recognize that every student learns differently. I am more than willing to work with you to find new ways of explaining topics for what works best for you!

I am experienced with AP chemistry, as I took this class in high school and earned a 5 on the AP exam. I remember how difficult of a class it is! I have over 2 years of experience tutoring this type of chemistry, and have helped multiple students in the past with this course.

Most importantly, I am a student myself that has had great success! I have found methods that allowed me to be successful in my undergraduate chemistry classes thus far, and would love to help you do the same. I am at the top of my class at my undergraduate institution, as I received awards for both general and organic chemistry recognizing my performance in the classes. After my first year of undergrad, I began tutoring and have loved the process so far.

I would love to work with you! Send me a message to schedule a session. I have availability every single day, weekends included!

Chemistry

Chemistry

I received recognition after taking general chemistry I and II for being the top student at my university in my first year. Since then, I have worked as a tutor (now with 1.5+ years of experience) for both general and organic chemistry with a wide variety of students with different learning styles.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

I received recognition for placing at the top of my class after taking organic chemistry I and II at my home university. While taking these classes, I studied incredibly hard and often learned through teaching others. Now, as a tutor at my university for organic and general chemistry, I am using those same teaching skills to tutor many students using easy-to-understand techniques.

I graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) from Elon University in May 2024 with my B.S. in Chemistry. While at Elon, I worked closely with Elon's Fellowships office, where I learned much of what I know about crafting strong individual essays into an overarching application package. By learning how to craft an application, I have been admitted to multiple competitive fellowships and research programs. These include: - The National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship Program (NIH UGSP), a fellowship providing $20,000 annually for undergraduates in return for training at the NIH. - Multiple summer research programs for undergraduate students (including multiple sites of the Amgen Scholars Program, with an acceptance rate of ~5%). - Multiple competitive (~5-15% acceptance) Chemistry PhD programs (such as Princeton University, University of Chicago, University of Toronto, University of Michigan and UC-San Diego). I recently began my PhD in Chemistry and Princeton University in August 2025. While my area of expertise is in Chemistry and Chemical Biology, I am excited to assist in applications for any STEM discipline!

A great help!

I wasn’t understanding any part of my new organic chemistry class. Christopher was funny, easy to talk to, and patient with teaching. He’s great at explaining concepts and tailoring lessons to your needs. After just one session, I highly recommend him to anyone looking for chemistry help!

Patient and very knowledgeable

Christopher was great! He helped my son study for his Chem Honors test. He was kind and he explained the difficult topics in an easy and understandable way. He made sure that my son understood everything before moving on to the next topic. I highly recommend Christopher!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Chris was fantastic! He quickly made himself available and was flexible with times. Our son commented that he understood more in his initial session with Chris than he had all semester in his class.

Intelligent and helpful tutor

Christopher D. really helped me understand AP Chemistry concepts that I was having trouble with. He also taught me various learning techniques and gave me tips to master my AP Test quickly and efficiently, as well as for memorizing chemistry concepts. I am planning to have more lessons with him and I can happily recommend him to anyone looking for help in chemistry.
