Hi! I’m Gabriel, an MD/PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania and a Summa cum laude graduate in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. I have several years of tutoring experience across middle school, high school, and college-level courses.
For four years, I taught SAT Math classes (10 students per class) through a test prep company in the Baltimore/DC area. I have also tutored college and high school students in introductory Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Physics, and Calculus. I am proficient in all pre-med coursework and scored in the top 96th percentile on the MCAT.
My tutoring approach focuses on building true understanding rather than memorization. I help students develop strong conceptual foundations and effective problem-solving strategies that transfer beyond their next exam. I often use a reverse-classroom model, where students attempt practice problems beforehand and sessions focus on working through additional questions, refining reasoning, and identifying gaps in knowledge. I also encourage students to teach concepts back to me, as this reinforces confidence and understanding.
My goal in every tutoring session is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes because meaningful progress comes from the learning process itself and a few mistakes on the way!
