I’m a Vanderbilt University graduate with 4+ years of tutoring experience, including SAT Reading/Writing and Math, and long-term support for AP courses, especially AP U.S. History (APUSH) and AP English (argumentation, rhetorical analysis, and timed writing). One of the most satisfying parts of my work is helping students turn “almost there” performance into consistent excellence. I’ve worked with students who were stuck in the B/C range on essays (strong ideas, but unclear structure, weak evidence integration, or inconsistent analysis) and helped them build repeatable systems that translated into consistent A-level writing. In AP settings, that same skill-building has led to tangible exam results, including students who improved their mastery and test execution enough to earn AP scores of 4s and 5s through stronger thesis control, tighter contextualization, and more strategic evidence + commentary.

Beyond tutoring, I’m also a Maryland-based educator teaching across the state in multiple subjects, and I teach in juvenile detention center classrooms. I bring that same high-accountability, high-support style to every student I work with. For admissions, I’ve helped students craft stronger personal narratives and applications, supporting acceptances to dream schools such as Yale, Brown, Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, University of Michigan, Emory, and Boston College.

My approach is scaffolded and mastery-driven. We start by diagnosing exactly what’s holding a student back (skills, habits, confidence, or strategy), then I build a step-by-step pathway: I model the skill, we practice together, and you gradually take full ownership with targeted feedback and clear next steps. Whether we’re improving an AP essay, building SAT consistency, or strengthening academic foundations, my goal is the same: make improvement measurable, make the work feel doable, and help the student become independent and confident without guesswork.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I’m an experienced Algebra 2 tutor who has worked with middle and high school students on everything from linear equations to quadratics and exponential functions. I focus on breaking complicated problems into clear, manageable steps so students actually understand why the math works, not just how to plug in formulas. In sessions, I mix concept review, guided practice, and targeted test prep so students feel more confident on quizzes and exams. I’m patient, encouraging, and always adjust my explanations to match each student’s pace and learning style.
College Counseling

College Counseling

Over the past several years, I have supported high-school and college applicants through comprehensive admissions coaching, with a particular focus on crafting strong, institution-tailored personal statements. I have guided students through every stage of the essay process (brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and line-level revision), helping them develop authentic narratives with clarity, structure, and emotional resonance. My experience spans across first-generation applicants and international students seeking to refine their storytelling while meeting the stylistic expectations of highly selective institutions. Across these engagements, I have consistently helped students elevate their essays from early concepts to compelling (with many top 20 college matriculations), polished submissions that meaningfully strengthen the overall competitiveness of their applications.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I have several years of experience tutoring academic and admissions essays, helping students turn rough ideas into polished, authentic pieces of writing. I work closely on the essay itself, especially in finding the strongest story or argument, tightening structure, sharpening topic sentences and transitions, and refining language so every sentence earns its place. I also focus on clarity and voice, making sure the writing is precise, compelling, and structured.
Korean

Korean

I help students improve Korean conversation, pronunciation, and natural phrasing, from beginner foundations to advanced fluency. I also support reading and writing, grammar, sentence structure, and polishing essays or professional messages with clear explanations tailored to your level. My lessons are practical and supportive, using real-life topics so you can speak with confidence and accuracy.
United States History

United States History

As an undergraduate at Vanderbilt, my academic focus has been American Political theory, so I help students understand U.S. history through the evolution of institutions, parties, political conflict, and policy change over time. In tutoring APUSH and U.S. History, I connect key events to the bigger story: state-building, reform movements, civil rights, and shifting ideas of citizenship, so students aren’t memorizing just facts but building a framework. I also coach rubric-based writing for DBQs/LEQs/SAQs, emphasizing clear thesis statements, purposeful evidence, and strong historical reasoning. My goal is to make U.S. history feel coherent and “click,” while building the skills students need to succeed on exams and in class.
Writing

Writing

I have 6+ years of experience tutoring writing, helping students produce clearer, more organized essays across subjects. I focus on planning, outlining, drafting, and revising, so students know exactly how to build strong paragraphs and develop ideas with evidence. In sessions, we improve thesis and topic sentences, transitions, and sentence-level clarity while fixing recurring grammar and style issues. My goal is for students to leave with a stronger draft and a repeatable method they can use independently.
