I have many years of experience teaching reading in elementary school. As a Certified Reading Specialist I have helped many students unlock the code to reading success. Regardless of your child's grade level, I will assess the current reading level and determine which skills your child needs help with. I will develop a plan to help your child develop the skills necessary to read above grade level.

As a Certified Reading Specialist, I am able to assess your child's reading ability (or in the case of very young children the reading readiness skills). I can pinpoint gaps in skills that are crucial for reading. I can then help you child perfect the skills needed to read above his/her current grade level. The best reading instruction is a logical sequential teaching of letter sounds, blending and segmenting. Sight word recognition is also an essential piece of the reading puzzle. I will help you and your child identify his/her learning styles and conform instruction to those strengths to make learning more natural.
