I offer tutoring in music theory for students from middle school to college level. I have had success tutoring theory online and am happy to tutor in person as well.

I also teach trumpet, trombone, French horn, euphonium, and tuba. I prefer to teach instrumental lessons in person. My students have had success at the All-State and All-Eastern level.

I am currently employed full-time teaching band, choir, music history, and music theory at the high school level. Although I am a classroom teacher, I really enjoy a one-on-one setting where I can address your specific questions and problems and ensure that you grasp each concept. I also strive to help students make connections from music theory to other areas of music like performance, music history, and composition.

I have my BS in Music Education. My college coursework included studies in counterpoint, form and analysis, composition, in addition to ear training and sight singing. I am also a published composer and arranger.

Excellent and using numerous techniques to explain musical concepts.

I was really impressed with Wesley's ability to use numerous teaching techniques to explain musical concepts to my daughter. Many teachers rely on a fairly one dimensional approach to education, but Wesley was able to take a concept and illustrate clearly through playing examples, verbal examples, and colorful description. This was an effective way for my daughter to understand how to interpret the concept and try to apply it in her playing.
