I'm Tyler! a licensed veterinarian who has always had a soft spot for educating others, not only about animals/zoology but also building upon other fundamental skills essential for life. My educational background includes earning my Bachelor's of Science degree in Animal Science and a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Through years of academic study and hands-on clinical experience, I've developed a strong foundation in animal biology, health, and care.
Equally important to me is my passion for education. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and helping others gain a better understanding of biology and related subjects. While my formal teaching experience began as a summer camp counselor, the impact of that role was significant. For 2 years, I worked with children between the ages of 8 and 15, introducing them to the fundamentals of animal science and fostering their curiosity about the natural world. Each day for 1 hour through hands-on activities, discussions, and mentorship, I helped young learners build confidence and appreciation for animal science. I strive to continue encouraging my students in other areas, not limited to animal science/zoology. My teaching approach is open and fluid, and not linear, as I see this style allows my students to be more confident in themselves and open to sharing. I prefer to create a safe space to ask any questions, as I often notice one or more students who have a similar question, but are nervous to ask. I feel that this style of teaching embraces vulnerability, but also builds character at the same time.
I want to benefit my students as much as possible by encouraging them and/or their parents to provide any resources that can help. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions. I look forward to helping.
