I have been tutoring mathematics since I was in high school, and I have been tutoring calculus since my freshman year of college. My preferred age for students is high school or above, but I am definitely willing and able to work with advanced middle school students as well. My main goal in a tutoring session is to build the student's confidence in their ability to do on their own what we do in our sessions. This leads to a tutoring method that is very student-driven. That is, I am willing to walk a student through the first time (or first few times, if needed) they see a certain type of problem, but after that, I guide with questions so that they can work through it more and more independently.
