My name is Thomas, and I recently graduated early as a Psychology major at the University of Southern California and will be attending medical school next fall. I’ve tutored students in math from kindergarten through sixth grade, and every Sunday I volunteer as a children’s ministry teacher at my local church in Los Angeles. Teaching has been one of the most meaningful and consistent parts of my week.
As someone who struggled with certain subjects growing up, I know how important it is to have someone who can explain things clearly and patiently. That’s the kind of tutor I aim to be. I want students to feel safe asking questions, even the ones they think are silly, and to leave our sessions feeling encouraged and capable.
I can help with a variety of subjects including (but not limited to) Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I also support students preparing for standardized tests like the SAT and MCAT. I’ve scored over 1500 on the SAT and over 515 on the MCAT, and I’m always happy to share tips, strategies, and encouragement.
