I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Linguistics, Cultures, and Education at the University of Maryland, where I maintain a 3.93 GPA and actively participate in the Honors Global Challenges and Solutions program. My academic focus, combined with my scholarship recognition for excellence in language learning and teaching, reflects my strong commitment to education. In addition to my coursework, I have studied abroad in Panama, where I volunteered to teach English to an indigenous community and translated for my peers, further developing my teaching and cross-cultural communication skills. My tutoring experience is both extensive and diverse. With Teach for America, I taught math and reading to 6th and 8th grade students virtually, developing engaging lesson plans that made learning interactive. I also worked as a tutor through the University of Maryland’s Academic Achievement Program, where I guided college freshmen in communication courses, created assignments, and maintained a structured gradebook. Beyond formal tutoring, I have served as a Program Leader at the Boys and Girls Club and as a Camp Counselor for Montgomery County Recreation, where I created lesson plans, facilitated activities, and provided a safe and supportive environment for elementary and middle school students. These experiences have prepared me to work with a wide range of learners, from young children to college-level students, both in group settings and one-on-one. My teaching style focuses on tailoring lessons to each student’s needs, using creative tools such as Canva and PowerPoint to make concepts engaging and accessible. I believe in fostering not only academic growth but also confidence, leadership, and curiosity in my students. With a background in language learning, cross-cultural communication, and curriculum design, I bring patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm to every session.
