Hi, I’m Adetayo—a science and math tutor with a PhD in International Health and over 15 years of experience helping students thrive. My academic journey includes an MSc in Human Nutritional Sciences and a BSc in Human Nutrition, and I’ve spent years working in global research and education. I specialize in tutoring Elementary Math, Elementary Science, Prealgebra, Biology, and ESL/ESOL, supporting students from elementary through high school. I work with elementary and middle school students to strengthen foundational math and science skills, and I support high schoolers in mastering biology with practical examples and step-by-step guidance. My approach blends academic rigor with real-world relevance, helping learners connect classroom concepts to everyday life.

I’ve worked with students in one-on-one settings, small groups, and virtual platforms—always tailoring my sessions to fit each learner’s pace, style, and goals. Whether I’m helping an elementary schooler grasp fractions and decimals; helping a middle schooler solve equations and inequalities; or guiding a high schooler through cell biology, I focus on breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps. I’ve supported learners who need homework help, test prep, or a deeper understanding of core concepts, and I love seeing that “aha!” moment when things finally click. My tutoring style is warm, structured, and student-centered, with a strong emphasis on building understanding and reducing stress.

What sets me apart is my ability to meet students where they are—academically and emotionally. I bring patience, cultural awareness, and a practical mindset to every session. I believe every student can succeed with the right support, and I’m here to make learning feel less overwhelming and more empowering. Feel free to contact me with any questions or schedule a lesson with me, and let’s work together to build skills, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.

Approved Subjects

Biology

Biology

I hold a PhD in International Health and have over 15 years of experience applying biological concepts in global health, nutrition, and development. I specialize in making complex topics—like cell biology, genetics, and human systems—accessible and engaging. My approach connects textbook science to real-world applications, helping students understand not just the “what,” but the “why”. I also support students with different learning needs, always tailoring lessons to their pace and goals.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I’ve helped students build strong math foundations by breaking down concepts into simple, relatable steps. From addition and subtraction to word problems and fractions, I use visual aids, real-life examples, and positive reinforcement to boost confidence. My experience includes working with early learners and those who need extra support catching up. I’m patient, encouraging, and committed to helping each child feel confident and successful in math.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

With a strong foundation in human nutrition and health, I bring science to life for young learners through hands-on examples and everyday connections. I’ve worked with children across diverse settings, helping them explore topics like ecosystems, the human body, and STEM experiments with curiosity and confidence. My tutoring style is fun, structured, and responsive to each child’s learning style. I believe science should spark wonder—and I love guiding that spark.
ESL/ESOL

ESL/ESOL

As a global educator and communicator, I’ve supported English learners from diverse backgrounds in mastering practical language skills. I focus on real-life English—conversation, reading, writing, and listening—tailored to each student’s goals and level. My tutoring style is warm, patient, and culturally aware, making learners feel comfortable and motivated. Whether you’re new to English or refining your fluency, I’ll help you grow with confidence.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I specialize in guiding students through the transition from arithmetic to algebraic thinking. With over a decade of experience in quantitative analysis and modeling, I help learners grasp key concepts like variables, equations, and ratios using step-by-step explanations and real-world examples. My sessions are structured to build both skill and confidence, especially for students who feel anxious about math. I make prealgebra feel doable—and even enjoyable.
