Experienced and Effective Math and Science Tutor

Hello and thank you for checking my profile! My name is D'Anna. In undergrad, I majored in Biology and Mathematics (I started out as an Engineering major). I was inducted into the freshman honor society and graduated cum laude. I have been a paid tutor for over eight years, but I have been tutoring since I myself was in grade school.

My extensive history with tutoring many people of varying age and education levels has uniquely equipped me to pass knowledge to students, and reinforce knowledge and instill confidence in students that already have it. I learned these skills from teachers and professors I enjoyed throughout my academic career.

When tutoring, I do an introductory and assessment session where I get a feel for the students' need level, and make a plan from there. After I assess their needs, I slowly guide them through the material, and reinforce as necessary. I believe that my methods greatly improve mastery of given material and instill confidence in students to problem solve on their own. I tailor my pace to the students need, while still challenging them.

I have a very strong mathematics and science background, and I have tutored students from elementary school through college. I have done remedial lessons for students behind many grade levels, and I have done quick reviews for students on tests. Although I list many subjects, I mostly focus on science and math classes.

This is a complete list of subjects I'm currently tutoring: Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus 1-3 (or 4, depending on your school term schedule), Elementary Science, HS Biology, General Biology, HS Chemistry, General Chemistry, HS Physics, Genetics.
