Since the age of 11 I have lived in different countries and always enjoyed languages, being aware in the same time how hard and frustrating it is in the beginning. I was born and raised in Romania, moved to Norway with my family, then studied in Paris and married a French, worked in Germany and moved to the States about 15 years ago. My first career was in finance: I worked as a business analyst in several countries. Then I decided to take a break to raise my children. During that time I often volunteered in schools and enjoyed being in the classroom, sharing with students, helping them learn. I decided to change careers and become a teacher, playing thus an active role in students' development and doing something that I truly enjoy. Languages are the field in which I feel comfortable. I enrolled in a Master's of Education program at George Washington University in DC that I am finishing in January 2015. This program included two internships: one in middle school that I did at Westland Middle School (Montgomery County Public School) where I taught French I, II and III, and one in high school that I did at the School Without Walls in DC (public school, magnet). I taught French III, IV and AP. Each internship was 8 weeks long.
I plan to tutor and substitute for the rest of the school year at least. I also taught adults at the French Library in Boston and at the Adult Education program in Westfield, NJ, all levels.
I look forward to a new, great experience!
