Having received a B.S. with High Honors in Physics (with numerous scholarships), I went on to receive a Ph.D. in Physics with a specialty in atomic physics from one of the top five U.S. programs in AMO physics. After graduate school, having completed my postdoctoral years, I'm now ready to help others with their academic struggles. As a postdoc, I supervised and mentored the graduate students working under me to achieve their goals and complete their degrees.

I have tutored students ever since my time at Montgomery Blair High School. I have enjoyed mentoring elementary students in the Girls on the Run Program. During my years at Maryland, I worked as a mentor for the high school Summer Girls Program within the Physics Department. On Maryland Day each year I volunteered putting on experiments and enjoyed showing children the joys of physics. I have also, participated each year in potential graduate student open houses by giving lectures and tours of my research lab. Some of the most fun I've ever had were delivering talks to middle school students at the Maryland Quidditch Camps and working with children building with Legos at the Montgomery County Libraries! As a judge, I have evaluated science themed poster sessions and student presentations. I have given a TED style talk to faculty members on the representation of girls in physics as well as numerous presentations of my research at conferences around the country.
I enjoy working with students from the youngest ages through college age and feel I could help them get over the difficult humps in school life! My philosophy is to meet each child where they are and tailor lessons to their specific needs. I can tutor in a broad variety of subjects in math and science and certainly help with other subjects. I enjoy competitive chess, swimming, and running, as well as working with a nonprofit tutoring special needs children and even dabbling in MD politics.
