I am a Stanford-trained educator with a background in psychology, computer science, and music, with a tutoring approach rooted in the same people-first mindset that animated my undergraduate years. My bases in developmental psych and peer counseling direct a rigorous and attuned pedagogy, which shines through in every learning context. Whether I'm explaining how to decompose a code problem or introducing musical concepts like jazz trumpet or basic beat-matching for DJs, I strive to create a safe and rewarding space as a tutor where students feel both seen and challenged.
Supporting freshmen and sophomores through their early academic transitions as a Resident Assistant at Stanford's Ujamaa House and the Sophomore College Program were highly rewarding experiences that taught me patience, attunement, and how to break down complex ideas into digestible pieces. Working closely with students in both tutoring and mentorship contexts taught me to listen without judgment and guide students toward solutions through reflection, specificity, and actionable time-bound changes. Students thrive when they feel understood and supported, allowing them to discover that they are capable of more than they might have ever imagined. As a teacher and tutor, I take seriously the charge to meet students where they are and give them the tools to grow into the learners and people that they want to become.
