Hi! I take joy in helping others learn and grow. It takes not only patience and persistence, but fun and enjoyment too. This has helped me tutor many students over the years.

I’ve tutored both young children and adults in English in Japan and the U.S., and learned teaching methodologies through my work, including that at a renowned math school. I've been a teaching assistant at the college level, and have trained new employees at work. I have a Master's Degree in Environmental Planning and an Engineering and Business Certificate from U.C. Berkeley. My undergraduate degree is in Business. I've worked with people of different backgrounds and with people for whom English is a second language.

My experience as a researcher and a data analyst in renewable energy, science, and energy finance have refined my skills in managing data in Excel as well as my domain knowledge in specific fields. Topics include renewable technologies such as solar and other clean energy technologies, sustainability, investing, business, and more. I also write and create content on these topics.

I regularly work with technology and applications including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), Google Suite / Apps, Canva. I work with both Microsoft and Apple / Mac operating systems. I use Excel and other spreadsheet applications in my work as a data analyst. I enjoy creative pursuits in my spare time.

Tutored foreign-language speakers in English, pronunciation, and cross-cultural communication. There are at least 4 important skills required in learning a language: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Each of these skills must be practiced to advance quickly and holistically in a language. Many learning programs tend to leave out 1 or more of these skills, but I will emphasize the importance of all 4 through exercises for each skill. I have lived, traveled, and gained university degrees and certificates in multiple countries and have successfully navigated many of the challenges presented by not only in learning and teaching foreign languages but in learning and interacting with different cultures and ways of thinking. I can help guide English learners through some of these challenges. I also happen to be a writer with experience writing in different styles and can help English learners to write and structure their English writing.

Hi! I've worked in the field of Environmental Science for over 20 years. There are different specializations within environmental science - I have specialized in one field but am able to help guide and be a partner in learning other fields as I enjoy staying active in my field and introducing others to it. Much of my background has been in climate change mitigation, climate and resilience technologies (such as solar and microgrids), pollution testing and mitigation, clean energy (e.g. solar) finance, and clean energy data analysis.
