Hi! I'm Cass Adler and I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hamilton College with a double major in Creative Writing and Spanish. I’ve tutored throughout high school and college, working one year as a math tutor, three years at Hamilton's Writing Center, and one year as a Computer Science teaching assistant. My approach highlights effective communication, focusing on working collaboratively with the student to provide confidence for upcoming tests and develop long-lasting skills for future assignments. I believe in adapting sessions to work with students as individuals and modifying my approach to best fit the student’s learning style.
I have one year of volunteer experience and three years of professional experience tutoring Spanish, essay construction, proofreading, textual analysis, creative writing, SAT English, Pre-Algebra, and CompSci. In general, I aim to help students develop their skills by breaking down problem areas into intuitive and easily-understandable solutions. For Spanish tutoring sessions, I have developed practice activities to make grammar and conjugation exercises interactive, engaging, and fun. I also offer sessions partially or completely in Spanish to practice full immersion. For writing or reading tutoring sessions, I have built a toolkit of persuasive strategies (such as how to construct or identify the organization of an argument) to make academic writing straightforward and approachable. For math tutoring sessions, I construct practice problems and teach students how to apply difficult concepts to real-world situations in order to make the process of finding an answer easy to follow.
I've served in a support role with my college's advising office, provided professional grading services, and was a CompSci TA. I scored a perfect 7 on IB Spanish, a 32 ACT, and a 1500 SAT. I made the Dean's List all four years of college and graduated with a GPA of 4.0. Please message with any questions – I'm excited to work with you!
